There are few things as invigorating as when Spring has finally… sprung! The season has a unique energizing quality, stemming from the concept of rebirth and rejuvenation! *Sigh*

Is it the fresh air on our faces? Is it the reappearance of vibrant colour after months of absence? Is it the slow shedding of our winter garb in favour of lighter material (and less of it)? March 2019 - Home Of The Month - Kensington Market

For our March installment, I share a tale which might seem unusual at first, but I believe it is a reflection of two growing movements in Toronto real estate: raising children in condos (as opposed to relocating for the picket fence and backyard), and a return to multi-generational living as a structure that allows 'aging in place'. This journey started back in 2005, when the parents of one of my buyers purchased a studio loft for their daughter in Toronto. Located in Kensington Lofts, this particular loft is quite charming - albeit bijou - with massive windows and exceptional light in the heart of Kensington Market. Fast forward ten years, and said daughter has met 'the one'! When the couple discovered they were expecting their first child, they began exploring freehold dwellings for sale in proximity to the loft; Unfortunately, they discovered the cost of properties within their limited budget requires a significant cash to bring it to habitable, and they fully renovated dwellings carried astronomical price tags.

Yup! Toronto’s Spring 2019 Real Estate Market Means Bidding Wars

As we step into the spring market, which historically begins in January and progresses until the end of May or early June, it appears this year will be no different in the original City of Toronto, with the exception of the market having a bit of a late start. Just when one is being kissed by one of those perfect sunny blue-sky winter days where you can hear the children laughing while they toboggan, the next day delivers another effort of back-breaking snow shoveling. Now, just imagine you're trying to get your house ready to come to market for sale amidst this climate. I can promise you that your effort to empty your garage, your basement, and even your closets of items to toss, donate, or give to your family and friends, is NOT going to happen as quickly as you might wish. After all, you have to shovel your walk every few hours on those snow days.

Toronto Loves the CN Tower (and so do I!)

If you ask me, no landmark represents Toronto more than the CN Tower which - from 1976 until 2007 - reigned as the world's tallest structure until the engineering marvel Burj Khalifa in Dubai took the crown.
