Before you know it, the slushy, wet transformation is complete. Spring is the season of hope and shifting energy, made even more meaningful by the length and severity of this winter we’ve had. Homewatch News: How to Determine The Laneway Suite Potential Of Your Toronto Property

In the summer of last year, the City of Toronto began allowing Laneway Housing, albeit in a confined area (thus far). Approved in June 2018, it took a few months for the city to post by-laws as they pertain to this new housing type, which the real estate industry, property owners, and potential developers/end users are now assessing. As a realtor working in the original City of Toronto for 26 years (including all of the city's geographic boundaries for laneway housing), I can assure you the interest is enormous. In fact, I already have Buyer clients keen to secure an underutilized property with laneway housing potential! With this development has come a lot of questions regarding laneway housing in Toronto, most surrounding what the new rules and limitations are for building a second domicile on a lot.

February 2019 - Home Of The Month - East York

Having recently graduated from college and secured her first position in her new career, our intrepid client had embarked upon a search for accommodations of her very own. She had previously been living in a shared residence (with an adored roomie of several years) closer to her old job and the college campus. High on her list of 'must-haves' were affordability, proximity to transit, either shared or ensuite laundry facilities, a sufficient amount of space and light, and, if possible, an outdoor space suitable for entertaining a couple of friends during the warmer months. Dear Urbaneer: Is It Time For Us To Climb The Property Ladder?

The madness of the property market in Toronto over the past decade has, among other things, changed the shape and direction of the traditional property ladder.
