May Blooms Into Summer

Usually, the turning of the seasons is a gentle, discrete process, where one hardly notices the change until after it has happened. This year however, our thermometers have bounced up and down with ferocity, where the seasons cycled through madly, as though they couldn’t quite decide where to land- and where to stay put. Happily (and thankfully) it looks as though we are ensconced in the pleasures of late spring, with the sound knowledge that the lazy days of summer will stretch out before us soon.

HomeWatch News - Welcome To Our Spring/Summer Forecast For 2013 On Toronto's Condominium Market

Every good story has a love-to-hate villain, and for urbaneer it's the ubiquitous box-in-the sky condo that is popping up left right and centre. The Achilles heel of this entire story of this market rests at its feet. While we still contend that condos that have a unique quality (i.e. properties with a thoughtful space plan, decent vista or in highly coveted locations) are more likely to hold their value by virtue of their rarity on the market, they may see their values dragged down. What do you need to know about this market in particular? Read more.

Interestingly, whether you are converting a small building into a few residences or intensifying the urban core with a mid-to-high-density condo project, the process by which you go...

We Love HousePorn

A few years ago at a dinner party, my friends and I shared our growing propensity to surf the net for extended hours lost in the never ending click of possibilities. However, we weren't looking at cute babies or adorable animals. Nor were we sleuthing for sexy salacious videos of the human kind. Instead, our visceral wants, needs and desires were consumed for anything housing. Yes, that night we collectively confessed to our obsession for House Porn. As a lover...

May Blooms a Changing Market

Here's what we're experiencing the downtown freehold and condominium markets. The lack of good product has kept the bidding war momentum in full swing, albeit mostly in the freehold housing sector. From our perspective, we're finding our condominium buyers are being offered a greater selection and choice, but finding 'special' can still remain a challenge. If you're looking for a great space plan, a terrace and a pleasing vista in a dynamite location you may still...
