When I was a kid my Mom gave me the latitude to be a silly inquisitive boy, while teaching me the essentials of good etiquette and all the social graces. She knew to step back during those moments that I demanded independence, and yet she was always there for a cuddle and reassurance when the world wasn't going my way. She inspired me to be true to myself, to be the best I can be, and to know that one works to live, not lives to work. I'm one of the lucky ones, for without all the lessons by example or by teaching, I know I wouldn't be who I am without the Mom I have.
I love you Mom.
Here's a cool YouTube video of Memorable Movie Mom's put together by TheForward.com. It is super endearing! Thanks to my pal Matt for bringing it to my attention. Check it out!
Happy Mother's Day!
