Easter Sunday At The George Street Diner Near St. Lawrence Market

April 20th, 2014 | RestaurantsSt. Lawrence Market

Handsomely situated with it's bright-red painted-brick exterior at the corner of George Street and Richmond Street East, the George Street Diner is a genuine original-character diner that's been part of our city's history and day-to-day fabric seemingly forever.

Urbaneer stopped in for a sunny Easter Sunday breakfast only to find the place quite literally hopping! The inimitable, ever-adorable and attentive George staff were each decked out with a fine assortment of fluffy bunny-ears (and at least one fluffy tail!). How cute are they?!

We took our place along the counter where we had an ideal view of all the kitchen goings-on. Before long our delicious special was served - Huevos Rancheros replete with refritos, house-made chorizo sausage, fluffy scrambled eggs, fresh guacamole, spicy tomato and jalapeno salsa all served on a toasty grilled tortilla. Delish!

Spots like the George Street Diner have a special place in our hearts at Urbaneer. It's just one of the ways we connect and continue our appreciation for the history of this city which we so adore. We encourage you to stop in soon for a delicious bite and to experience the great and truly authentic hospitality!
