Bloom Into June!

If early spring is about being coaxed outside after a long winter, this time of year, as spring melts into summer, is about people committing to being outside. Patios become populated, conversations buzz, and people linger- to enjoy each other's company, and the new softness in the air. Blooms burst open, bringing colour and variety. At urbaneer.com, we've witnessed a similar phenomenon, with the Toronto housing market continuing to blossom through the early spring.

Now, though, as the stage is set to while away an evening or two on a patio, so is the timing ideal to ponder a few questions. Home is meant to be fun and where you laugh the most often, right? Shouldn't promoting your home include that sentiment?

For the better part of last century, Real Estate advertising was rigidly confined within the limitation of location, bricks and mortar, often using dull boring descriptions. It was all practical and zero inspirational. Even as a housing obsessed child (at the age of ten I was making my father take me to open houses), I always thought there was a better way to write real estate copy, at urbaneer.com, particularly with our INNOVATIVE SPACE ads, we feel like we've done just that.

You may already be familiar with a long-time tradition that has spanned a couple of decades here at urbaneer that combines two of our favourite things: Real Estate and humour. While the old-school types may not see a place in Real Estate copy for humour, we firmly disagree. Where they see utilitarian, we see inspiration, and we have the track record to prove it. We've been running INNOVATIVE SPACE ads in the Globe and Mail that centre on a quick turn of phrase. Here is a copy of our most recent ad.

For a number of reasons (including a number of government incentives), when it comes to owning real estate, your first purchase should always be a primary residence.

Owning a property where the rents pay off a mortgage is a great way to secure your financial future, particularly in the city of Toronto, where real estate investment offers considerable upside. As with all investments, it behoves potential investors to investigate all options available to them.

So, what are the various property types, and what should you know before purchasing?
