Ever since my visit to Vancouver last Labour Day when a mutual friend introduced me to Steve, who was in the midst of a relocation to T-dot, we've been tootling around the city exploring different retailers and restaurants. It's always fun showing a new arrival into the windows of your world. Here's a blog where I introduced Steve to some hip spots on Ossington Avenue.
Our last time out I gave Steve a tour of St. Lawrence Market which I recently blogged about, and then we headed east to Leslieville where we grabbed a bite at Lady Marmalade. I chose Lady Marmalade not only for its casual environment and delish food, but also because their first location is in Victoria where we both grew up!
For your listening pleasure, here's a soundtrack I consider quite appropo for this posting.
Lady Marmalade is located at 898 Queen East near Logan Avenue. It's an eggs benny and mexican fusion breakfast and lunch joint run by the Cherry siblings. Everyone loves it, from young families to hipsters and all those in between. Think recycled chairs and kitchen tables, great rotating art by local artists, and a fun staff who enjoy where they work.
This is the kind of place that makes a neighbourhood special.
