Hot Oven Bakery In Roncesvalles Village

Junction / High Park / Bloor West / Swansea, Restaurants, Roncesvalles Village

Pastries and buns and cakes, oh my!

If there’s one thing I’ve learned about Hot Oven Bakery, it’s that I always leave with a full bag of deliciousness that is above and beyond what I stopped in to buy. The aromas are incredibly seductive, the displays mouth-watering, and the staff engaging – a combination that always hits me right in my sweet tooth (and wallet).

Hot Oven Bakery on Roncesvalles Avenue is a spacious but homey bakeshop, boasting plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and offering bountiful tasty treats ranging from fresh bread and baked goods to pies and Homestyle hot meals! They have three other locations in Toronto (The Kingsway, Bloor West Village, and Cloverdale Mall), but it doesn’t feel like a franchise.

I have yet to try a single confection that was less than excellent!

We applaud Hot Oven Bakery for managing to stay open and committed to serving its patrons through the entire pandemic and emerging out the other side! (At the Roncesvalles Avenue location, they simply made some small changes in place to keep you and your neighbours safe. This included a plexiglass corridor that separates the entrance from the exit, plexiglass at the cash register when ordering and paying for your treats and of course lots of hand sanitizer available at different spots to keep your hands clean from germs.)

The Hot Oven Bakery team seems to take great pleasure in their jobs as they are committed to making your experience as pleasant as possible, even during our stressful COVID-19 times.

Best of all, they’re always bang-on with consistent and lovely customer service! Their team appears to take great pleasure in their jobs; the sales help is always high-spirited regardless of the day’s pace.

While the prices are reasonable, if you’re short on change or love a good bargain, after 6 pm they offer $2 bread to sell off that day’s stock – talk about being committed to ‘fresh’!

Are you a fan of meat pie? Hot Oven Bakery makes a killer pie – of all varieties – but the savoury meat pie is at the top of our list. They’re about $4.00 and DELICIOUS!

A word of warning? Especially on weekends, be sure to get there EARLY to have the pick of their full shelves – otherwise, your favourites might be gone!
